Forum Cookies Reaches Europe

The arrival of the Forum Cut was the decisive event in Mamiko Seeds’ history. According to Mamiko, the clone reached the company through a business it supplied with seeds; that business had received the plant from the San Francisco Bay Area. At the time, the cut was simply called Girl Scout Cookies because the market had not accumulated enough Cookies selections to require additional labels. “Forum” became the identifying name as the clone spread through an online cultivation forum. Mamiko says he contacted the sender and confirmed its traceability.

Around 2012 and 2013, Cookies was becoming one of the most discussed cultivars in American connoisseur circles, but European growers had few legitimate seed options connected to the clone. Mamiko responded by offering Forum Cookies S1 seeds and using the cut in hybrid projects. Mamiko’s influence is especially visible in modern savory cannabis. It became a preferred parent for breeders seeking resin, yield, potency, and sulfur-heavy flavor. Mamiko did not create every later “garlic” cultivar, but Chem Cookies supplied one of the major genetic and cultural starting points for that category.

As of 2026, Mamiko Seeds remains a boutique label rather than a mass-market catalog. There are about thirty documented cultivars, and current retailer inventories include Forum Cookies, Chem Cookies or GMO, Cheese Cookies, Mimosa Cookies, Big Apple Cookies, Charm Cookies, Sour OG, and newer regular work intended to carry the GMO family forward. Availability changes frequently, and some older releases appear only through specialist distributors or stored packs.

The company’s lasting importance comes from timing, access, and restraint. Mamiko recognized the potential of Forum Cookies before it was widely available in European seed form, paired it with Chem D, and allowed the resulting seeds to reach growers capable of discovering something extraordinary. GMO became larger than Mamiko Seeds, but its success confirms the breeder’s role. From a small Spanish operation came one of the most consequential cannabis populations of the twenty-first century.
