No Mercy Seeds are a Netherlands based marijuana seed company that are very serious about producing quality strains, as their F8 cut of Santa Maria shows. This strain originates in the Brazilian Amazon, and is used spiritually by the people in that area. No Mercy crossed a Santa Maria plant with a Mexican Haze and a Silver Pearl, then back-crossed this for four generations. A male from that generation was then bred with a pure Santa Maria mother, which was then inbred 8 times by backcrossing a male with the mother plant.

Originally an outdoor plant, Santa Maria is happiest outside under natural light. However, even outdoors you should cut her back, otherwise she’ll keep growing and growing and will eventually succumb to the weight of her flowers, even with additional staking. Cutting vertically will encourage outward growth and result in a bushier plant that can hold itself better. Expect a flowering time of about 60 days.

This generation of Santa Maria is said to have very strong erotic effects, and as such, should be used with caution. I’m not sure whether these effects take the form of super potent pheromones emanating from the smoker, or manifest themselves as an incredibly sexy atmosphere in the room, but either way, be careful who you attract and remember to play safe.
