Many cannabis breeders these days advocate wholly organic grow operations, and Don’t Panic Organix is at the forefront of this movement. Breeder Eddie Funxta grows only organically and is passionate about preserving the health and taste of his plants this way, especially as he grows predominantly for medical marijuana patients – and with such genetically rich plants, it’s easy to see why he’d want to take care of them.

Diabolic Funxta is a true American strain, a cross between a Sour Diesel plant from the East Coast of the U.S. and the breeder’s own American Funxta, which itself is a back-crossed Platinum OG Kush plant. If this doesn’t have you singing “The Star Spangled Banner” by the time you’ve smoked a bowl, then nothing will.

Indoor growers may expect that this strain is not suitable for them, as its heavy sativa dominant genetics will bring about tall plants, but when grown inside, plants can be kept under 6 feet with careful cultivation. Their true home, though, is outdoors or in a greenhouse, where the extra room to spread will allow for optimum growth, and, therefore, enhanced yields because these plants can grow as tall as 12 feet. With extra room plants will bloom out into beautiful shapes with many branches, which will benefit from having fans directed onto them if you’re growing indoors; the movement of the air mimics the wind, and encourages branches to grow stronger. In a natural outdoor scenario, this strain will take a full 24 weeks from seed to harvest, though shorter times can be had indoors with forced flowering. Though the breeder strongly recommends growing in soil, and starting with large pots to allow for root growth, these plants can also tolerate a hydroponic setup, and in fact will finish earlier in a hydro grow. Either way, your resulting buds will be well worth the extended grow period, not just because of their ravishing good looks.

Once cured, your harvested buds will remind you of their Sour Diesel parentage with their aroma of fuel and citrus fruits. The smoke also combines a fresh, flowery taste, and is a bit of a cougher. It has been noted to work well for those suffering from directed pain, with affected areas like the back and head, and is great for alleviating pressure behind the eyes and chronic pain in the neck. It can also be of great help to those with autoimmune diseases or diseases that attack the cells. Of course, no strain is purely a medical strain, and recreational users will find that Diabolic Funxta is anything but devilish, bringing on a gorgeously positive head high that gives the body a buzz, too.
